Founded in 1982, PCA is a Boston-based architecture, interior design, and planning firm. Recent years have marked a period of strong growth, with a 30-person team expansion, larger projects, and an evolving studio structure. Approaching its 40th anniversary — and with a new generation of leadership stepping forward — PCA set out to reassess its brand and online presence, aligning them with the scale, ambition, and maturity of the firm today..

Add Colours

As an 87% employee-owned firm, PCA is defined by a welcoming, human-centred culture. The new identity crystallises this openness — pairing warmth and colour with a clear expression of expertise and professionalism.

Flexible framework

PCA’s visual system is built on a square grid that gives structure to bold use of colour.

Typography

A single sans-serif typeface, Halvar Mittelschrift, was chosen for its precise engineering and subtle human character.

Touchpoints

Key client touchpoints, including RFP and presentation templates — became central elements of PCA’s renewed visual identity.

Digital

The PCA website became the core of the redesign — their most important platform for engaging talent, clients, and media. A modular system and clear information architecture replaced a flat, unfocused experience.

Guidelines

Clear guidelines give PCA’s in-house team a simple foundation for producing consistent, high-quality work.

From insights to action

This toolkit helps professionals working with youth apply insights from brain and behavioral science in practice.

Developed with NGOs, practitioners, and researchers, it guides users through a four-step workshop—no training or facilitator needed.

"We believe in the power of a humanist, value-based approach and creative partnerships with our clients. The right design is a catalyst for positive experiences. Great design boosts the health, resilience and social impact of neighborhoods. At PCA, sustainable design is infused in our process, adding asset value for clients while providing a healthier future for the community." // PCA – Architecture, Interiors + Planning
